Florida 2026 Ballot · Proposed

A historic property-tax break is on Florida's November 2026 ballot.

If voters approve, Florida's homestead exemption for non-school taxes would rise to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028 — potentially erasing most property taxes for primary homeowners.

The catch for newcomers: move to Florida after Dec. 31, 2026 and you may wait up to five years to qualify for the full exemption. When you establish residency matters.
